Art Plug #1: Mario Wibisono

Just want to plug this really amaaaazing L5R artist that I happened to stumble across by accident on Google images.

He's even selling playmats with his artwork on them here. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go cry while admiring his stuff.

#noobproblems #1

Guy gives me really good cards.

BUT I DUNNO HOW TO PUT THEM IN MY ALREADY EXISTING DECK T_T

And now I have a headache with what cards to shift out to put them in.

Such is life.

I HATE CAVALRY OMG

And I am scared of Unicorn clans now.

*sigh*

On another note, played a few more rounds again today. One of the guys helped me build my deck a bit.
But I still don't know how to use it to its full potential OTL I can't remember everything that's on the table so I forget to do certain abilities that would have helped me.

*SIGH*

But I will keep on playing. I just don't have enough "battle experience" so I don't know what's wrong and what's right.

I'm also feeling a bit weirded out because I feel like I always have too few strategy cards in my hand after a while coz I keep using it in battle. Then I will end up always having 2 or 3 cards in hand.

Doesn't help that half of my deck are just for weapons since I play a lot of Kensais.

*SIIIGH*

Maybe I should just learn how to play honour instead.

L5R PLAYERS PLEASE BEAR WITH ME YA T.T

Updates

So I went for a casual tutorial today at CCDJ with a few friends. Played 3 rounds. Can say I am slowly getting the hang of it.

Some cards still don't make sense to me. But I will make it a point to ask when I can.

Now... Need to figure out how to make my deck better ;_; I guess this is the time to buy more boosters since I more or less know what cards can be useful in my deck.

Ivory Edition Prerelease Tournament 2014 experience

So yesterday I attended the Ivory Edition Prerelease Tournament at Comics Corner Damansara Jaya.

I will probably post the box in a separate post, so I will just talk about my experience in this one.

My first opponent was Kamal, who was a Crab clan member.

His playstyle was really interesting. Multi-clan personalities that act like followers (lol). I had no idea which were personalities and which were followers ;~; and I do not remember seeing any attachments.

Needless to say, this was my first ever game of L5R, he successfully took all 4 of my provinces. But was a loooong game though. Must've been an hour. No idea how a first-timer like me could last that long.

My second opponent was Sze Kerng, who was playing a Lion deck.

Cannot say much about it coz he easily tapau-ed me. I literally couldn't do anything coz, this being my second time playing, didn't really know how to use my battle actions.

I don't think it would have made a difference anyway coz before I knew it, he had like 9 or 10 personalities on the board vs 2 of mine. That was easily the fastest game ever.

My third opponent was Han Yang, playing a Mantis deck. Already early on he was saying he was gonna lose lol! No way man, I am 3rd time playing this game, how can you lose to me? xD

Buuuut somehow, I did win o.o I made so many noob mistakes though (going for two provinces at once when one of my personalities was just 1 force shy of breaking a province. That was so malu gila siut) and apparently I could have tapau-ed him 2 turns before. And there were so many people crowding me that I felt so overwhelmed, compounded at the fact that I literally didn't know what to do and some cards didn't make sense to me.

Sigh T_T

This was really an experience for a new clan member for me. This is very similar to throwing me into the deep end and leaving me to swim. I think I probably learned a lot in one game than I would have in many tutorial runs. Like dueling especially.

I hope I will get to play more games and grow as a humble Dragon clan member \o/

P.S: I am loving my Kensais and duelists right now.

Introduction

Hello! I am just a humble Dragon Clan member. I enrolled some time in November, and am still slowly learning the ropes.

Why did I choose Dragon Clan? Not sure. It was recommended to me. Do I regret the choice? Nope!

To be honest, I am still struggling with Five Rings because it's a lot more complicated than Magic. But! I can forsee that once I get the hang of it, I will have a lot of fun playing it.

So I will persevere and work hard \o/
